Ventured Ascent
About us
Ventured Ascent were originally put together for a leaving party, back in December 2005. It was only supposed to be a one off, with the original line-up of Josh on drums, Mig on guitar and Ant on vocals. After that, however, the band decided to make a go of it in the underground music scene of rural Dorset. After adding bassist Ally early in January, the first gig was planned in early February.
The gig was a huge success, and Ascent were called back onstage for an impromptu encore. Ascent played covers of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers hits By The Way and Californication, with a fill arranged by Josh and Mig. In the encore Ascent played Aerials, by System of a Down, and Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold.
Antony nearly left the band, but with a little persuasion he stayed. Our latest achievement was in Battle of the Bands 2006, where we managed to get to the final, playing a cover of unholy confessions and bat country, and also the first song we've written 'caught in a dream'. We came second, in what was an extremely close final. Next year is Ventured Ascent year!
